Tae Won Kim

Internationally recognized specialist in lingual orthodontics and Clear Aligner therapy. After graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry at Yonsei University in 1988, he received his MSD degrees in 1991 (the same university) and his PhD in 2001 from Showa University, Japan. Since 1996, he has been in private practice in Seoul and has been actively developing eCligner technology, a system of transparent laminar orthodontic appliances with digital three-dimensional planning.

He holds important academic positions: President of the Korean Society of Lingual Orthodontics (KSLO), Clinical Professor at Yonsei, Gyeonghee, and Bingzou Universities (China), and Director of eCligner Development in Seoul, Bern, and Istanbul. He completed internships in Tokyo (fellow, 1994-1995) and worked as the head of the Department of Orthodontics at Ewha Womans University (1995-1996).

Tae Won Kim is a pioneer of digital orthodontics with clear aligner therapy: since 1998, he has been implementing the unique 3D concepts and protocols of aligner production, including three levels of material thickness. He is the author of 19 international and 11 national articles, as well as 5 books on clear aligner therapy, lingual orthodontics, including Principle and Clinical Application of Clear Aligner, Textbook of Lingual Orthodontics, and Clear Aligner Manual.

As a sought-after speaker at international congresses, Prof. Kim conducts courses on lingual orthodontics, micro implant and eCligner systems all over the world: in Europe (Barcelona, Vienna, Bern), South America (Montevideo, Brazil), Asia (Tokyo, Singapore, Israel) and on other continents.
