The FDI World Congress is one of the key events in the professional calendar of dentists. This year, the event will bring together the global dental community in Prague from September 4 to 7 for a four-day exchange of scientific achievements, clinical knowledge and discussion of trends that shape the development of the profession.
The Congress will take place at the O2 Arena and O2 Universum Congress Centre under the organization of the World Dental Federation (FDI) in collaboration with the Czech Dental Association. More than 8,000 specialists are expected to attend, which underscores the scale and significance of the event for the global dental community.
Technological innovations as the backbone of the program
According to FDI’s statement, technological innovations will be a cross-cutting theme of the program. Artificial intelligence, robotics and advanced biomaterials are transforming diagnostics, treatment planning and clinical protocols. Congress sessions will be devoted to critical analysis of these developments and their integration into patient-oriented practice.
«As our profession evolves, adaptability and awareness become a necessity,» noted FDI President Dr. Nikolay Sharkov. He emphasized that the congress will provide a platform for discussing advances in artificial intelligence, dental materials and clinical techniques.
Dr. Roman Schmützler, President of the Czech Dental Association, pointed out the importance of dialogue about who will guide the development of dental teams and how to ensure ethical, safe and accessible application of new technologies in clinical practice.
Scientific program of the congress
The program will cover current issues in modern dentistry: molar and incisor hypomineralization, vital pulp therapy, contemporary endodontics and strategies for preserving natural teeth. Separate blocks will be devoted to professional well-being of specialists, changes in the business model of dentistry, as well as the balance between work and personal life of practicing physicians.
Industrial exhibition and format of the event
The industrial exhibition will present leading manufacturers of dental equipment and materials, providing participants with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest developments in the industry. The scientific program will be conducted in English; in separate halls, real-time translation is available through an application in 16 languages, which ensures accessibility for an international audience.
