Despite the availability of <strong>scientific evidence of its effectiveness, MIOC remains inconsistently integrated into everyday clinical practice<\/strong>. An international expert consensus published in June proposed evidence-based recommendations to address this gap and support its broader implementation.<\/p>\n<h2>Structured approach to developing a consensus document<\/h2>\n<p>The document was developed based on an expert consensus workshop held in December of last year in Munich with the support of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Dentistry. <strong>Fourteen recommendations cover clinical practice, education, workforce organization, and healthcare system design<\/strong>, emphasizing the need for coordinated action at multiple levels.<\/p>\n<p>The development process involved 16 experts who reviewed draft recommendations, refined them, and then voted anonymously. <strong>Consensus was predefined as a minimum of 75% agreement among participants<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Key areas of reform in oral healthcare<\/h2>\n<p>The resulting document &#8220;Minimally invasive oral care \u2014 overcoming implementation barriers: an international expert consensus&#8221; recommends <strong>MIOC as the default standard of care<\/strong> and draws attention to <strong>reimbursement system reform, teamwork, specialist retraining, and ethical application of digital tools and artificial intelligence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than narrow clinical guidelines, the document proposes <strong>coordinated principles for translating established evidence into routine practice<\/strong>.
