Ed McLaren

An outstanding specialist in the field of aesthetic dentistry and restorative prosthetics. He was educated and certified by leading U.S. faculty and has led the esthetic dentistry programs at UCLA for a long time. He currently heads a private practice where he performs all the ceramic dental work himself, while also heading the ArtOral America Education Center.

Previously, he founded and conducted UCLA's graduate aesthetic dentistry programs, including the Center for Esthetic Dentistry and the Master Dental Ceramist program. Later, he also created similar programs at the University of Alabama – UAB, combining aesthetic education, biomaterials, and digital technologies. He holds clinical and adjunct professor positions at several universities, including the University of Oregon.

Dr. McLaren is actively involved in research, is the author of more than 90 scientific publications and regularly conducts workshops and lectures around the world. He has also published a book called The Art of Passion: Ceramics, Teeth, Faces, and Places, where he demonstrates the subtlety of ceramic techniques and the aesthetics of dental photography.
