FDI World Dental Congress in Prague: 90 countries and transformation of international clinical cooperation

Modern dentistry is undergoing a large-scale digital transformation, shaping new clinical and educational paradigms on a global scale.

In this context the key factor of progress becomes not only the development of technologies, but also the effective translation of knowledge between practice and science; from 4 to 7 September 2026 Prague will host FDI World Dental Congress, an event uniting practitioners, researchers and industry groups in a multi-format educational and exhibition ecosystem of international level.

Transformation as a key factor

Participation of specialists from more than 90 countries confirms the profound transformation of international professional cooperation and diffusion of clinical knowledge; at the same time the most important tasks are standardization and validation of clinical protocols adapted to digital workflows and regulatory requirements.

Standardization and clinical validation

The congress functions not only as an educational platform but also as a venue for integrating high-precision digital solutions into clinical practice — methodologies for multicenter clinical trials are discussed, outcome criteria including objective indicators and patient-reported outcome measures, as well as requirements for reproducibility of workflows in implantology, prosthetic dentistry and regenerative protocols.

Educational ecosystem: structure and content

The extensive scientific program includes interdisciplinary sessions, masterclasses and an exhibition, ensuring synchronization of standards and clinically validated methods; particular value is represented by the integration of digital technologies, validation of AI solutions, demonstration of reproducible workflows and discussion of data quality issues and explainability of algorithms.

Practical orientation and access

The program is aimed at demonstrating reproducible clinical workflows — from scanning using intraoral scanners and CBCT to CAD/CAM procedures, guided surgery and 3D-printed restorations; registration is open, meanwhile participants can take advantage of preferential rates until 4 June 2026, which accelerates access to international knowledge and stimulates participation of young specialists and research groups.

Geography as a strategic venue

The patronage of the Prime Minister and representatives of ministries reflects recognition of the importance of oral health in public health policy; the choice of Prague emphasizes transnational dynamics, demonstrating reforms in Czech dentistry, strengthening of human resource capacity and improved accessibility of services.

Technological trends in the local context

Rapid adoption of AI, 3D printing and robotic systems in clinical practice is discussed not only from the technology perspective but also in aspects of tissue regeneration, biocompatible materials, outcome prediction and integration into existing standards of patient safety and quality.

Cooperation as an instrument

The culture and network of congress events — from scientific sessions to social programs — act as a mechanism for strengthening professional cooperation and trust; the gala dinner in the Spanish Hall of Prague Castle and events at the Municipal House create conditions for establishing interdisciplinary and transnational links, which is important for conducting large-scale clinical trials and exchange of experience.

The role of interregional exchange

Leaders of professional organizations note that exchange of experience between regions accelerates the adoption of evidence-based medicine and the formation of reproducible practices — the relevance of this approach is determined by the need to improve the quality of medical care in the context of globalization and population aging, as well as the need to create unified protocols for training personnel and quality control.

Conclusion

FDI World Dental Congress 2026 demonstrates that modern dentistry is developing as an integrated ecosystem based on knowledge exchange, digital technologies and clinical cooperation; international symposia form a new professional culture oriented toward precision, standardization, reproducibility and continuous development of clinical practice.
