Ivoclar summer school teaches digital workflows

Ivoclar Summer School 2026 to run in ten countries

Introduction / Background

SCHAAN, Liechtenstein — Ivoclar’s international education initiative for dental students will run again in 2026 under the motto “Travel, learn, connect.” First launched in 2022, the Ivoclar Summer School is expected to convene more than 100 participants across ten countries. The five‑day programme combines theoretical instruction and hands‑on practice to familiarise advanced students with products, technologies and clinical workflows that are often underrepresented in university curricula.

What the programme will include

The summer schools will be held between June and August across sites in Asia, Europe and Central and South America. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for treating their first patients and addresses clinical processes from taking a patient history through to delivering treatment. Specific emphasis areas include digital dentistry, aesthetic considerations and soft skills. Each day comprises full‑day workshops, lectures by subject experts and a supporting social programme.

Dates and locations

  • Bogotá, Colombia: 22–26 June
  • Delhi, India: 29 June–3 July
  • Schaan, Liechtenstein: 6–10 July
  • Lisbon, Portugal: 6–10 July
  • Mexico City, Mexico: 6–10 July
  • London, England: 20–24 July
  • São Paulo, Brazil: 20–24 July
  • Warsaw, Poland: 27–31 July
  • Berlin, Germany: 3–7 August
  • Vienna, Austria: 24–28 August

In selected countries the Summer School will be delivered in collaboration with partner institutions, including MALO CLINIC in Lisbon and King’s College London. The London edition made its UK debut in 2025.

Target participants, fees and logistics

The programme is aimed at dental students who have completed preclinical phantom courses and acquired basic practical skills (for example, changing burs and placing matrix bands). The course fee for 2026 is €290 and covers five days of training, required materials and equipment for workshops, handouts, lunch, coffee breaks and a joint evening event. Travel, accommodation and any required visas are the responsibility of participants.

“This week gave me more than knowledge—it gave me clarity, inspiration, and a network of peers who share the same passion. Dentistry is about precision, compassion, and lifelong learning. After these five days, I feel ready to embrace all of it.” — Omar Burhan, participant in the 2025 Ivoclar Summer School (London)

Relevance for dental practice

The Summer School targets gaps commonly encountered when transitioning from preclinical training to supervised patient care. By integrating practical workshops on contemporary workflows (including digital tools) with sessions on aesthetics and soft skills, the programme aims to accelerate students’ readiness for clinical responsibility. For educators and clinic leads, the programme may offer insight into supplementary training topics students find valuable prior to independent patient care.
